I just bought a 1999 SN with a GT 40. The raw water filter looks to have a small grey electrical wire coming out of the top of it and leading towards the stern of the boat. First, I am curious to what this is and second it is leaking water where it enters the filter. It looks like a rubber seal of some kind has gone bad and allowing it to leak. Any idea what it is and how to fix it would be appreciated.
