I realise that there is a lot of information on this site about oil. I've done a search a most of the information is very technical getting into cam shafts etc... I just would like to know which oil I should be running in a 351 Ford PCM. If you note my location it is never very cold here and I'm running a closed cooling system that keeps a constant temp of 180°. How often is the tranny fluid supposed to be changed and what oil should be used in a 1:23 tranny?
Thanks, Carlos |

Carlos, theres been lots of discussion on oils here recently- so Ill keep it short.
Engine: You need an oil with ZDDP for the Ford. For the warmer temps, Id go with straight 40w Rotella or 20w50 Valvoline Racing VR1. Tranny: Stick with conventional ATF- synthetic is too slippery for the wet clutches. Eric recommends Valvoline Dexron-Mercon. |

PCM says yearly. I always do it when I winterize. |
