The prop I took off of the boat is
Federal 14 x 16 Bore = 1" Is that the factory Prop size ? What is the perfect prop for the 91' Sport Nautique ? I'll be mostly joy riding / Tubing / Wake boarding. Just weekend Fun. I won't be practicing for the Fat Boy Professional Tubing tournament or anything. Just having fun. But I would like something thats gonna be smooth but have some power if that makes $cents |

I read the post link,
So I need the 470 it seems. Is there a link that compares the 422/ 4 blade to the 470 3 blade ? Or did you try those two ? and how did the High performance blade 14?? do on your stock engine ? |

PMC - I am going to buy the 1442. I don't have any experience with any props other than the stock Federal. I have read just about every post on props here & they say the 4 blade is not as efficient as a 3 blade.

If the engine is staying 100% stock, but you dont wakeboard exclusively, its a tossup between the 1442 and 470. Either one will put a big smile on your face. I tested a whole bunch of props last fall for the 1.23 boats, but still havent put a writeup together. Either of those 3-blades will outperform the 422. |

Which one of those in the picture is the 470 ? and the 422 ?
I ordered the 470 from Delta this morning. The guy there was pushing a used 422 on me. I told him about the comparison on this site and he still swore by the 422. Said theres more 470s returned than the 422's. I also talked to the guy at Acme this morning and he gave me the run down on about 4 different props. I think one was a 1492. But from what he told me it matched what ya'll are saying. The 470 would give some good low end and keep the top end up also. We'll see when it gets here. Thanks for the help. |

The 470 prop came in today. Thats one heck of a prop. Theres no comparison to the federal. The prop looks built to perform I see what you guys mean. Can't wait to try it out.
