I think there will be quite a queue of guys like us standing at the docks. Ballast is the term they use to describe the boatless. |

Didn't think I was going to make it,but things are shaping up.Barring anything unforseen I will be leaving Maine friday AM hoping to be there around 12-1pm.As it stands,I will not be bringing the boat after all,but at least I'm gonna make it.I'll be the lonely guy on shore with a wakeboard in one hand and gas money in the other!!

I am going to get a late start on friday, hitting the mass pike at 495 about 5 pm. Anyone one else heading west about that time? Would be fun to travel together, although I am guessing most of you will be well on your way or there by then.

Hearthstone appears to be completely full that weekend. Battleground seems to have plenty of availabilty. Difference my be that Hearthstone is on the lake. Don't take my word for it tho, check for yourself to make sure.

Alan,
Ken from Adirondack Marine recommended Hearthstone Campgrounds. It's not walking distance to downtown (I'm not sure there is a campground that's walking distance to downtown)but I think it is on the water, and not far from the boat ramp at Adirondack Marine. Lake George Battleground Campground is probably the closest to downtown. -Keith |

Has anyone done any homework regarding camping nearby, there's a possibility we may bring the camper after all but not if we can't be within walking distance of the resort. |

Might want to check that alignment one more time... or is that shaking because you are nervous about what might happen in the next nano second.
Great job there Joe... |

With all the delays on this project I have that coming to me, I will be sure to bring a camera man along with me this evening, hopefully they are a camera man and not a tow boat operator. |

Alan, I would consider going with you AND sharing the driving and cost if you come get me. I can leave Friday right after work but have to be back Sunday night.
I can be ready when you get here.... |

I'm still scheming to drive out without the boat. If I can pull it together, we'd arrive Thursday just before Midnight and leave Sunday A.M.
I can't do a cookout for you guys, but I'd be more than willing to help out with driving that orange thingie y'all been talking about. |

Larry, If we get atleast 2 more to help split up cost and drive time we'd probably do that so the offer's out there. That leaves us searching for campgrounds again but we could figure it out. |

I was hoping you were bringing the Bounder, that way you could have brought along a few of the PLBC goons. Still could work, just get them to chip in.

Yep we'll have the boat. Really comes down to time and economics, 1800 miles at less than 6 MPG towing is a scary number at todays gas prices. You have to run slower in the MH too and it wears on you a lot more than a regular tow vehicle. If we were spending a week there it starts to work out but your upside down with just a couple night stay. |

Joe, we're gonna rough it this trip and stay at the Marine Village Resort. A little too far and not enough time to make the Bounder work out for us. |

Go back to the original annoucement of the event. Keith put in a link to accomdations including campsites. I am leaning towards camping. There is one right around the corner, about 2 miles from downtown. Forget the name, but you will see it.

That Beer may look too good to drink but I guess I will soldier through it and save the empty.. Nobody has really talked about camping but now might be a good time. I havent made motel reservations yet but thats my intent for this year. I didnt find much open in the way of the state owned parks so I was planning to motel/hotel it this year and scout the campsites while I am there to look at doing something more camping oriented next year when something central and perhaps on an island can be found. Alan is bringing a bounder so I am guessing he has found a campsite he could share? |

Niceee Brad that looks good!
Maybe this was already discussed (I haven't been around in awhile): Is anyone camping for the weekend? If so, where? (Just in case my schedule frees up and I can jump in the MH at the last minute and head north.) |
