Tim, At least you did it the smart way and found out how many people were interested before starting. With one of my projects (the "since 1925" decal) I went and had the art work vectored from scratch and 25 sets printed. I used a set and sold 2 sets!! Well, in my case I did need the decal and then there is the "keep it original" factor!

Pete-

Just to get the glove box covers done I am having to pull some strings with one of my friends shops. With the 15 orders I have right now I'm not even braking even yet.

Tim, Sorry I forgot to respond! Got side tracked at work - can you imagine that?? I don't have any real good suggestions except looking for a plastics fabricator that is equipped to do vacuum forming. They will need a "plug" to suck the vinyl down to the form. You may end up pulling a female off the existing and them using it to make a male. Lots of work! It's really a shame that the marine industry is different than the automotive - selling off the tooling after so many years for after market reproductions of parts!

threelakes, If you are a Three Lakes Wis. person and want to keep yourself secret to the whole crew here, I'd still appreciate hearing from you. I won't tell anyone!! You can email via my profile. Just click "profile" below and you will find the email icon.

Pete, its not the fiberglass frame thats the problem, really- I can plug those holes just fine. My dash is covered in vinyl, though- as all dashes are since '88 or so. The holes and tears in the vinyl are whats driving the replacement. If I could find some place that can vacuum mold the dash in vinyl, Id be all set- but I havent looked into it yet. Thats a project for next year if I cant find a new/used one in nice shape. Any tips on finding a place that does that sort of work?

Tim, I know you have mentioned pulling a mold for the bucket seats and we do have the glove box covers being reproduced so just wondering if the same could be done with the dash pod. Not having one in front of me, I can't see if it is feasable as far as relief. Could you plug all the holes on a exsisting and then pull a female mold off it? Then remake them in fiberglass. No need for a real high end mold for gel coat. Just a clean up and paint.

The original owner had a weather radio handheld mounted to it, as well as an ipod mount, and some other piece. It looks like a pin cushion.

Another alternative (for me at least) would be to have it recovered. Ive got to look into places that can vacuum form the vinyl.

Threelakes, I must say that that wasn't a very warm welcome by Tim! He must have been in a hurry as he normally isn't that abrupt! So, welcome to the site and hopefully you will find the dash pod.

Now, being a Three Lakes Wisconsin person, if you are from the same I'd like to ask, who are you??
