Check your cables, disconnect them and see if there is a lot of resistance on the throttle. If one gets bent too sharp,it will cause a kink which causes a lot of resistance and needs to be replaced.

Both the throttle and the knob are sticking. The knob sticks in and the throttle has a lot of friction. After spraying oil or spray grease, they both free up for about a day, then start sticking again. I'm baffled.

Which is sticking, the throttle or the gear knob?

The throttle on my 78 American Skier is sticking in the throttle quadrant. Spraying with various lubricants or applying oil around the clutch knob helps for about a day, then it sticks again. Is there some special lube for these units. Anyone know of a good replacement throttle assembly for the American Skier? This is the same assembly I had on my 73 Nautique.
