a local station here in IA as most all do had 89 octane ethanol as the base/cheapest fuel to fill up the car.

Now they have 88. I've never seen 88 ethanol. seems weird to me. Do I skip it and go get 89 at the other gas station up the street or is ethanol crappy no matter what?

We just got our morning quote for 8000gal bulk diesel.
$4.35/gal.
Pretty soon, fuel is going to cost more than booze!
And I can't figure out which one I give up first.

Well now that you mention it....:) I'll probably start recovering some of the methANOL used in the process since the last 55 gal drum was 200 bucks! You can get about 20 percent of what you put in back out by distillation of the glycerin the process also makes. Fortunatly I helped a local constable get set up and he set me up with the local Sunnoco Race Gas Supplier.   I get about 14 gal of used oil a week and make a run of 28 every two weeks. That is enough for my trips to work and around town.

Diesel was $4.45 this morning, and unfortunately for me the truck was rather thirsty. Getting very close to needing those new adjectives...

actual gasoline comsumption is down, refineries are only operating at 80 something capacity, oil supplies are up. The people who produce nothing and contribute nothing are speculating the price up aritifically and making a killing doing it.

Eric,

Planning on driving up Fri night. Figure I'll get to your shop around 8 or 9 Sat morning. Will that work for you? I can bring you some $3.59 gas...or would beer be better?

Paid $3.49 at SAMS club yesterday afternoon. Don't imagine that will last long.
