The owners of Nirvana have local artwork all over the property; carvings, statues, and I saw a framed 'save the reefs' poster where they appeared to have sponsored the effort...very cool for the reefs!

I wasn't sure about this one at first glance. LOL Demar explained that he is a traditional farmer coming in from the fields. That's a machete handle in his hand and a clamshell basket on his head. A hurricane must have claimed his blade.

John, we went to Nirvana on a friend's referral...none of the other places are quite like it. People stopped all day long on the beach to ask "which is this place".

We were blessed.

Thanks Riley! Having the wedding there was all Amy's idea and she fretted over it for ages, but it worked like a well oiled machine.

And while Jamaica isn't for everyone, I have to highly reccomend it!

Very good choice Greg!

What do you suppose this guy is doing?!!?

Maybe there's a big dog nearby?

Silly me, he's a showman at Rick's on the West End! I'm guessing that sign that says 15 is meters and he goes up a lot higher than that...and what an athlete!

Wedding night pics?!!? LOL How bout if I just tell you that she let the twins out to play on the beach...

This is Errol getting us some fresh coconuts for breakfast.

A happier looking guardhouse I've never seen! The tree behind it is a wild pineapple and the only 1 like it in Negril. I was thinking of digging under it and maybe put in a coffee table and a chair...

LOL! Didn't mean to cause problems.

I agree that GL should be the priority. If I remember, you're planning for '09? We'll almost surely make that one so we'll catch you up on the island mon!

I won't suffer any more wedding pics on you good people, but I do want to get in a few plugs for friends down there.

I already mentioned our photographer, Brian Nejedly. He works all over Jamaica and is a super nice guy. His link is in the first post.

This is Chris, manager of Mountain View Stables. He used to be a professional jockey and now looks after newbies on a horse like me. My first ride was back when I was 10. My 2nd and 3rd were on this trip. My point is that he was always right there when needed and I about had it figured out on my 3rd ride with his help. He also has that infectious smile and personality! The background is the old Allspice plantation with the ocean just over the hill.

This is Demar and his girlfriend Jody. He works at the grocery stote in West End and was a big help in the transition from Kroger!

This pic was taken at our unplanned reception...he'll get to see it because he goes to his local internet cafe almost everyday.

Another from the reception at the party hut. Chris is on the far right and the others were staying at Nirvana with us.

That brings me to Nirvana and another shot for Kristof. Nirvana(where we stayed and will be going back to) is owned by a husband and wife who love Jamaica and it shows. If you like bigger places with more going on, this is not for you. If you like peace and quiet and some elbow room, this is your place. Also, the people who work at Nirvana are over the top! Hey guys!!!!

The hut and gardens

I was wondering when you'd get back. Congrats to you and Amy. Looks like ya'll had way too much fun. Now you can get back to your priorities and get the BFN finished to get her back in the water.

Let us know when the lake is full and well make a trip up that way for a day or two. Well....maybe!

Well alrighty then...buffalo got married! It was the nicest ceremony I could've imagined. Heck, there were a couple of topless girls at the resort when we got there, and they even put their tops on for the event?!!? LOL

Seriously, it was Irie all the way around and the single best trip either of us have ever been on.

I'll add to this post after I work through the pics(many!) and get my new boss's approval on a few.
