I've got the feeling he was injection molding them.
Do a search for posts by Stan C He's the guy who was making them,he tells in one post how he made them and he had several very satisfied people buy them from him. I was one of them They are exactly like the originals. I think the last time he posted was Jan of 2006 but his e mail address is in one of his posts and his phone number and address in another. Reid, I've got this feeling that he was buying the black ones, spraying the white and then wet sanding off the top of the letters to revel the black. (Tony, that's how you do the plastic logo's) I just can't picture him tooling up and injection molding them. The only other possibility is he pulled a flex mold off a existing an was then casting them and of coarse painting them.

Whatever happened to the guy on the website here that was making the white/black ones. I bought several sets several years ago. Did I miss where he quit making and selling them?

A '74 would have had the white/black plastic logos, which are NLA. The closest you can find now are the black/chrome emblems from White Lake. These came on the late 70's boats, but can be painted to look pretty similar to what you need.

I am looking for the "Correct Craft" logo that was attached to the side of 70's boats. My 1974 has it painted on, but when I do the hull, I want to use the screw on. I think it looks better.
Thanks. |
