dual battery question

   sounds good the way you put it.  but maybe i need a different type of switch?

i've got 3 posts:  one for each battery and the third is a ground.

there is no post that always has power, unless like i said i set the switch to 'both'.

what kind of switch do you have?

	I have a 98 Super Sport and have all the parts to do the dual battery system I just have not had time to do it yet. To solve your problem you need to install it as follows; Your battery switch will have three post on it. The one in the middle goes to the boat system while the other two will go to the respective batteries. The existing wires that you have going to your factory battery need to go to the middle or the post that will always have power no matter what battery you have it switched to. The only wires that need to go to your batteries are the single positive wire to the switch. I am going to mount my switch under the rear seat on the starboard side. I am going to notch out the black plastic seat base to run the wires under it and screw the switch to the floor. The factory wires should reach with no problem. I have it all planned out just not installed. This is a left over project from last winter that I will finally have time to get to this fall. I hope that makes since. Brad

	i've got a 1996 supersport v-drive i want to hook up a second battery to. I'm not sure what to do about some extra wires i have on the battery. there are 2 additional wires on the positive terminal of the battery. one goes to a relay which must have something to do with the ignition, and the other is going to the fuel injection. i tried to test my alternator once by disconnecting the positive, but the test wouldn't work because these 2 extra wires need to be tight on the battery for the boat to run. i've recieved only one tip - and that was to just run all of the wires to the switch - say the number 1 setting, and connect the second battery to the number 2 setting normally. heres where i'm lost - if my number one battery dies, and i switch to number 2 for backup, my boat won't run because number 2 doesn't have those extra igniton wires. so in this instance its useless. unless ....? if i put the switch setting to 'both 1 and 2', would this solve my problem and get my boat started? thanks for any advice
