I bought my '80 in about 91/92 when the kids were young. I used to be a drag boater but we needed something a little more family friendly. I wasn't about to buy just "any" boat. I loved 'nautiques from my early years, skiing in novice tournaments. My '80 now is a bit weathered but still in good shape. It's claim to fame anymore is the week vacation to central Washington State. The kids are grown and now it's the grandkids turn. The 'nautique still beams with pride when out and there isn't a day goes by that someone doesn't comment on what a nice boat it is. Enjoy yours!!!

Hey dude,
I just bought a 80 nautique like you. My wife and I are really going over it. We already redid the interior and are now moving on to the exterior. We are going for a up to date look with plans to create one hell of a hotrod wakeboard boat. When I post some pics I hope to suprise some of you onlookers. Maybe tomarrow I will take some of the work in progress. I really think these old boats can be redone into real bad ass boats. I am curious to know what your boat looks like. I want to know how your gelcoat turned out after your polishing. If anyone has a favorite way to restore an oxidised pale gelcoat to a gloss then give some feedback. |

I'm beaming this morning...it finally stopped raining long enough for me to wash it down for the first time, apply the Starbrite hull cleaner and some NuFinish to polish it off. I'm already feeling that sense of pride felt by many other classic Nautique owners. Can't wait for the Owners Reunion in San Antonio this year!

Many of the running gear and engine parts can be purchased a www.skidim.com. Boat/hull specific parts can be purchased at many marine stores, but many others are Correct Craft dealer only items. You will soon learn to recognize which parts are generic and which are specific to your vintage SN.

Congratulations !! on your Correct Craft.
Yes , owning an old Correct Craft is like owning a classic sports car. You will feel pride and joy when you pull up at a marina and people come over to check it out !!! Being a Correct Craft owner is very fun and interesting . Good Luck, Mike (nautique Frk) "Helping keep old Correct Crafts alive" |

Congratulations, I remember when I got the one I have now a 78, it’s all I thought about, I had more projects planned than the co-captain was interested in and every one makes my hands sore.

I got it friday! My first Nautique after many, many years of admiring others. Obviously at this age it needs a new interior and freshening of the exterior overall, but I'm looking forward to reading past forums for the advice offered by you all. Hopefully I'll serve to inspire others in turn. Feel free to share advice on where to obtain parts, etc.
