First run of the year here in nw ohio yesterday, air temp was a balmy 47, and a bathtub like water temp of 36. We didn't stay out that long, but it sure beat just looking at my waterskiing mag, and wishing it was me out there.

On this side of the pond (UK), even though it has been particularly cold we haven't stopped skiing.
Drysuits were the order of the day, we have now moved to 5mm wetsuits.Definatelt a case of Mad dogs and englishmen!! |

Living in Birmingham, I plan on trying a first run for the year on Good Friday (3/25) Looks like it will be 75 degrees, wind has been more of a problem lateley than anything else. Will be using a drysuit.

I live in Central Texas. I put the boat in the water this weekend but had some problems. Replaced the battery cables and the starter relay (I can't spell silinoid ). I crusied around the lake until dark yesterday. I'm planing to cut out of work in about 45 min and hit it again. My wife is thinking about skiing today. The water's still too cold for me. People really wear wet suits for skiing

I've been wakeboarding and wakesurfing all winter in my drysuit. I'm ready for the warm weather to stay here in NC so I don't have to fool with it though. Another month and the water should be warmed up enough to go in shorts.

Must be nice to live in the South... The lake in N.E. Ohio is still ice covered. I don't think the air temp. has even reached 50 yet. It won't be too much longer, April is just 2 weeks away and thats when I put her in.

I am in Birmingham AL. Ski mostly on Lake Mitchell and Lake Jordan.
Way too cold still... I did take the boat out in January to try out a new prop. I am doing the yearly boat wax now. I won't try to ski until May. |

A budy of mine and I skied Saturday in Houston. 80 Air/60 Water. The skiing was pretty ugly, but fun all the same.
Nice to be on the water again, but man am I sore. |

Our SNOB is still hybernating in Maine. We've got about 18" of snow on about 18" of ice on the lake. I'd give it another 60 days before even the die-hards drop their boats in the water.

I am in Auburn, Al. I got to school at Auburn. I've never taken the boat up to Tenn. Furthest north i have gone is Hutsville to buy the boat. I mostly ski on Lake Martin and West Point lake.

My wife and I took our 1997 Ski Nautique out on Saturday also. We live in Washington, about 30 minutes north of Seattle. Alabama sounds almost hot to me. The water here is about 45 degrees and I think the temp. reached near 60 degrees. Forget the wetsuits, drysuits required, unless you're a lot tougher than I am. You gotta love the first ski run of the year!!

Good to hear someone got out this weekend.
It was about 80deg. here too(TN). Unfortunately, my SN 2001 is going through a little restoration right now but I'll be ready in about 2 more weeks. Where are you in AL? Ever ride on the tenn-tom waterway? |

I pulled the 86 SN 2001 out on friday. cleaned her up, got the engine running on the first crank, and headed to the lake! skied all day saturday. Feels great to be back on the lake. Great weekend other than a dinged prop from a rock. Has anyone else brought the boat out of storage yet? I'm in Alabama, and it got up to 80 deg. this weekend. Water is still cold(60 deg). Wetsuits made it a little better.
