that works, but personally I think that hose is too hard to get to and has a barbed fitting which makes the hose harder to remove.....hence, I take a screwdriver to it, slip and slice my finger, pull my arm out real fast and cut it on the end of a hose clamp! So the cooler hose is easier and safer for me. A little rubber snot lube on the hose keeps it from sticking to the metal.

well if you take the hose loose at the hull fitting you don't need a hose the a standard gagden hose fits perfect and you don't have to worry about screwing up the tin can they call a cooler.

I am cheap and simple minded. When I flush my boat, I remove the line that enters the tranny cooler. I take a rubber washer machine U shaped drain hose and fit one end on the tranny cooler and stick the garden hose up the other end. Works great b/c the ends are different sizes and it is soft and stretchy. When not in use I store it in b/n the stringers in one of those little areas. I have had the same piece of hose for about 15 years!

I wouldn't be by-passing the cooler, if your only going to be running it for 1 minute everytime then you could get by, but your going to spend at least 5 minute to flush it or jack with the timing or carb sooo.

but yes I would mount it between the intake pick-up in the hull and the tranny cooler, remember if the engines turning so is the tranmission, prop might not be turning but internall in the tranny it is for sure.

No one likes replacing stuff 79. I do appreciate you pointing that out. should it be mounted in between the water intake on the bottom of the boat and the pump? Like i said the instruction were horrible.

well maybe after you get some new hose you'll install it so that you don't burn up the tranny fluid and mount it before the cooler, but then maybe you like replacing stuff.

Installed A Perko Flush tonight. Took about 15min and most of that was lubing and twisting on the hoses. Simple:

1 cut the hose going into the pump were the impeller goes.

2. remove about a 5in section(be careful the wires are sharp).

3. install perko with arrows going in the correct direction.

4. tighten all the clamps and get the hose ready!!

Instructions that come with it are kind of lame. Not many pictures..LOL

Combined with my new impeller i had water shooting out of the exhaust..
