Since it is a rod you need to make a throttle brake.
The easiest way to do this is to make the rod fit tighter as it passes thur one of the support blocks for the rod on located on the stringer. If it has wood blocks make a new block by drilling a hole the size of the rod in the woodthen cut it in half. Put it in place on the stringer then tighten to mounting screws to create drag on the rod. The problem is that with age the holes in the original blocks get larger. If you need some more help let me know.

First question is does a rod run from the lever at the bottom of the column to the carb or is a cable attached to the column.

I have it listed in "diaries" as a '49 Utility Junior. The pics I have posted there do not do justice as they are pre-restoration. '49 is a best guess as there was no hull card when I bought it, and the guy who sold it to me had some documentation dated 1949.

I talked to some people at Correct Craft in Florida and we matched dimensions to some pics from that time period ... but it could also be early to mid 1950's. SM

Maybe some Loctite could help if there are some threads without it.

My CC has the older style throttle ... a lever mounted in the center of the steering wheel. by turning clockwise I increase throttle. The system connecting it to the engine is a series of levers that work very well.

The problem is that the lever is loose. Engine vibration alone will cause the throttle to slip clockwise, inadvertatly causing the engine to throttle up. Has anyone had any experience with either tightening or providing counter force??? Thanks. SM
