Thank you for answering me. I've bought the 97 Ford 5,8HO with carbs, hopefully a good choice....I'll tell later

Cedric,
What years are the boats? If you're looking at a newer gt40 that's the way to go. If it's an older one, there were some issues with the first few years of the Fuel Injection.

Uhm..from Luxembourg or in?
If the boat will be used across the pond, I would prefer the simplicity of carburation else research if there was good factory support for the PCM FI system close by.

Both engines are Ford 351W based engines marinized by PCM. I'm not sure of all the differences but the biggest is probably that the GT40 is Multiport Fuel Injected and the 5.8HO is carburated.

As far as performance I think the difference is only 10hp. Both engines will be reliable if maintained properly, but I would prefer the GT40.

I want to buy a correct craft and I have a question about engines. I have the choice between two boats. One with the Gt40 engine (more expensive) and one with a PCM Ford 5,8HO engine with 300hp. To tell you...I'm not really an expert in mechanics, so my question to all the experts is: the PCM has carburettors, so I wonder if there will be problems to "keep the engine correctly running" or for the maintenance(sorry for my english, am from Luxembourg). Is the GT40 engine with fuel injection, I suppose) really that better or is there only a difference on the paper? (10HP)
The boat is for private use only.
I would appreciate if someone could help me.
Thanks
