Yes I did install an HEI distributor for my rebuild but they didn't give me any kind of documentation on what the advance curve is.
On the bottom of the distributor they engraved 24 deg. @ 3000. So I assume that is the point where it reaches full advance. Aside from that I don't know much other than it works great and pulls hard. I just got the boat in the water this weekend after the re-rebuild for the proper cam grind and proper piston to bore clearance and she's running strong. |

If I remember correctly didn't you install an HEI distributor when you did your overhaul last year on 351W?
If so did they give you a print out of advance to RPM for the way they curved the dist. advance. I was looking into curving my mallory unit and would like to use that as a guide. Our cam's and engine mod's are very simular and that would give me a good baseline to start from. Thanks's in advance for your help. |
