Thanks Hoppy. Note that the thermostat housing has 2 ends in the front that aren't connected; they go to the front of each exhaust manifold.

Hey thanx, the photo is great answers all of my cooling questions.... I very much appreciate your help. I'll print out your photo and use it as a guide. Nice looking motor.
Too bad my spare LT-1 roller motor turns the wrong way !!! I'd love to put that in the boat, oh well This will work and let my wife and I enjoy our friends on the water...!

B is the intake. I almost answered this earlier, but wasn't sure we had the same pump. Now I know.

The hose coming up from underneath is the intake from the hull fitting through the trans cooler. Hope this helps!

Thanx for the input, I'll try to post a couple of photo's. I found out the pump is a G-55, mostly used on the big block chevy's, mine is a small block.

The pump is reversable in its mount. So make the pickup to the bottom.
if its been off this is some thing to be careful putting back on.When you have it proven correct draw an arrow on the back.

On the hoses there are several layouts but you should be able to tell preety much where the hoses came from. The water prop. enters thru water pump and exits thermostat.Has to go in and out manifolds.

Just a thought, Do you see a radiator cap?

In order from the lake water.....Hull intake, sea strainer, trans oil cooler(water should flow the opposite direction of the oil), RWP, T-stat housing. From the housing, one hose to each manifold riser, one down to the engine's circulating pump.

Why don't you post up some pics of the '80 and we can make sure it's correct.

Greetings, I recently purchased a 1980 Ski Nautique to restore and use up in Big Bear Lake, California. The engine is a 350 chevy and all of the water/cooling hoses were disconnected. My basic question is..... Does anyone have a general diagram of the hose hookups( cooling diagram), also. How can I tell which side of the Sherwood raw water pump is the intake....?????? This motor is a REVERSE rotation. I intend to replace all of the hoses and clean it up before I tackle the uggh...! Stringer job.
Thanx for your reply,
Hoppy
