Very easy job, even I can do it. Digital before photos of orientation work also. But you have to look close.
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Be careful when you put the pump back on. Note the orientation....in fact mark "top" on the top side of it.

Definately don't overtighten while you are on the water. I sheared a bolt on time due to its age and corosion and ended up having to be towed in.

John,

What is your boat/engine? This is a pretty simple chore. Don't use any petroleum products, just use dish soap on the impeller, that will be more than enough to lubricate it, plus when you see huge suds coming out the back you know it's pumping it thru . You shouldn't have to use any sealant, just the supplied gaskets/orings.

Some will say to make sure you mark the orientation of your pump before you remove it to prevent putting it on backwards. Good luck.

Can someone walk me through changing the water pump impeller please, thanks. Haven't done this on the Nautique before. What should I use to grease the vanes and inside the housing > petroleum jelly, marine grease ? Should I use a sealant on the brass gasket > what kind ? Any other suggestions ?

thanks, cheers, John
