Sounds like you have water in the float it self. take the float out and drain it, and then reseal the float.

Some installations have the switch mounted on the pump (one unit), but if yours is mounted separetly just replace the switch. They are fairly inexpensive.

My float switch on my bilge pump, doesnt float when in water. I can manually flip up the switch and the pump starts, but it will not "float up" when water is in the bottom of the boat.
Is this a common problem? Easy fix? or just buy a new switch? Didnt really want to waste everyones time on a simple questions, but thought it might be a common problem that can be remedied. thanks |
