The steering was stiff prior to the accident. My guess is the the rudder was angled up and to the rear.

The cable was/is marked 17.5, it is the correct cable, and was not replaced.
All I know is it's much better now, all they changed was the rudder and port. Yee-haaa! Life is good. |

Guessing Tim is right about the wrong cable.
I don't think a rudder port would affect the turning radius if it were still useable in the first place. |

It would also be short if they put the incorrect steering cable in also.

I had posted June 24 a question about how tight should my boat turn. When I had posted this question, my boat was in the shop, having been ungraciously dumped on the pavement by a defective trailer axle. Fortunately it was insured and I had a CC dealer close by to affect the repairs. The rudder was snapped clean off, the shop insisted replacing the rudder port as well, correctly reasoning the port must also be damaged. It must have been damaged when I bought it, because when I got my boat back, the turning radius is now what it should have been all along. :D
