Bring it up to Warrenville saturday and I'll run through everything with you. I'll be working on mine most of the day at the shop. Where in Naperville are you? Shoot me an email if you care to come by. 81nautique

I've had it for a month and used it quite a bit over the last four weekends. It runs great. I really need someone who knows this boat to assess if it needs anything beyond cosmetics. Some spider cracks in gelcoat. Original interior is MINT - yes mint

Plenty of good weather left. Don't mothball that good boat just yet. Even if you aren't towing or being towed, a day on the water is always better than a day on the couch.

Carrera - Don't winterize just yet. Take it out & have some fun, even if the weather is marginal. Then you will get an idea what you want to work on next spring. I bought mine in the fall & only used it a few hours before storing, then was itching to work on it all winter!

I live in Naperville, boat in SW Michigan -Lake MI and Paw Paw Lake

Brought the boat home, need to assess what it needs, get a gameplan together, winterize and store.

Also updated the profile. No pics yet, but that will give Kapla something to look forward to - LOL

Some pictures would be great. A real location (HW) helps people figure out what area of Chicagoland you are referring to.

What does it need? The guy who will do the winterizing may not be the same that can do other work needed. How's the gel coat? Stringer condition? Post some pictures. We'd love to see what you have.

Also, there are some fantastic threads here on things like winterizing. Pictures too!! I'll try to get some links up when I have some time. Till then, you can find lots with the search feature.

Don't forget to get some pictures and some text to Keith so he can get you into the diaries too.

No name,
I noticed the same and can't resist asking too??

The winterizing is really pretty simple. If you want to take this on, we'll be happy to walk you through it. HW's offer is a good option too!

Welcome to finding CCfan.

I am a new owner of a mint 1979 ski nautique. Looking for a trusted mechanic to winterize and help maintain and work with me to restore over the next couple years. Anyone in western suburbs of Chicago or NW Indiana, SW Michigan that comes highly recommended?
