Chris - If you add a power outlet, you may want to consider running an additional ground up to the dash. The original wiring was slightly undersized from the factory & adding more load will only make it worse. Watch you guages when you turn on the blower & running lights, they will go down!

my 89 has a ground strip under the dash.. also the wires off the button was just zip tied up to the harness, i think mine was an orange wire..if that helps at all...

Also, I want to add a power outlet (cig lighter style) I am planning one of the Acc switches for power, whats the best place to go for a ground?

I need to use the 89 dash wiring diagram from the reference section but when I click on it it says the file is "locked". Anyone have a copy of the file they could share? I need to know what wires go to the horn switch and the alarm on the dash.
