Where did you get it? My nautique runs an automotive stat whixch I just matched for size at the local motor factors. Runs between 140-160 all day long.

Remove the stat and check for debris holding it open. I ran up some shallow water this year, sucked up some shell debris which held the stat open a smidge. A couple of mm gap was all it took to take the running tamp down to 90 degrees.

LPG freezing is usually down to poor water flow.
Check your scupper, water strainer and trans cooler for blockages.
Check your raw water pump impeller for wear.
Also check all your water lines for air leaks. It only takes a small amount of air to be drain in to cause problems.

A correctly installed system on a ford should exit from the inlet manifold and return to the circulating water pump.

Also check your engine temp is sitting at around 140, a stuck open thermostat will cause additional freezing/rich running issues especially if you have any of the above issues causing poor water flow.

The Ford engines have very good water flow at idle and above speeds. GM engines do have issues with water flow at idle and these can cause freezing of the vaporiser at low speeds (especially if a heater has been fitted).

I've run LPG boats for 20+ years even trough the winter with lake temps only just above freezing without any issues. I've also installed, serviced and trouble shooted many systems so if you still have problems after checking the above coem back to me.

Right, an error on my part here. The pipe that feeds the vapouriser comes out of the manfold. It looks like an adapter is fitted where the temp gauge takes it reading from.Water then travels though the LPG kit and returns back into the system down near the raw water pump area at the front of the motor.Im guessing the water is pulled through rather than pumped ?

Fly,
What is the guy saying that did the conversion?

It sounds like the water is draining back to a lower point when the engine isn't running. Then, when running the water is flowing through the circuit with the least resistance. (the original plumbing circuit) The "Y" idea may help but I'd look at plumbing it using a series circuit instead of a parallel circuit. IE: Get rid of the "T" and go through the vaporizer first and then through the original circuit.

The routing of the return could be applying pressure on the system from the evacuated engine water.Try replacing the tee with a Y fitting as to create a small draw on the line.

Guys

I could use a little help with my LPG system.

The problem I have is it keeps freezing up.Now at the bottom of the part that freezes there is a water jacket that takes hot water from the top of the motor (Its T'ed into the existing system) runs it round the vaporiser and then returns it back into the motor to be added to the rest of the water and ejected all as per normal.

Right for some time it seems to be air locking thus allowing now water to run through sad LPG parts and therefore they freeze up. Boat stops….much swearing fix boat and we are all good for the rest of the day.Any ideas how I can stop the air lock or add some sort of auto bleed to it.
It’s a PCM 351 Ford motor with a professional install of the LPG kit.

Cheers
