James - Pete is right, you just need to raise the inlet hose to be be above the thermostat Hsg & pour the AF in, it takes about 2 gallons. You will hear when it starts going into the muffler.
Just leave it full for the winter. |

You only get the corrosion protection from the antifreeze if you leave it in the block. You can pour it in through the hose that sits between the RWP and 'stat housing. No need to remove the thermostat- theres a bypass built in.
I assume youre asking how to fill the block with water before restarting. If thats the case, dont bother. Just connect it to water and fire it up. First add stabilizer to the fuel, run it a bit so it gets up to the carb, then fog and redrain before backfilling. |

Having been busy I've only partially winterised my 89 2001 ( just drained all the water -Block, Headers, Filter , Trans Cooler )
Now i hev the time I'm going to do it properly ie Run Fuel additive through system, Oil Change , and Fog the Cylinders Tape the exhaust remove battery etc Given its currently drained I have a couple of questions I would like to put anti freeze through and redrain it How do I easily refill the block prior to restarting it ? How do I best get the antifreeze in before draining (remove the stat and fill it ??- is the Stat easily removed ???) Iknow the anti freeze is not always regarded as necessary but I like the fact that its anti corrosion and an additional safeguard against any water pockets. Thanks Guys |
