I would say in the 50k range, unless you find someone that wants that exact car, really the buyer dictates the price and i would imagine if it ran through an auction it would fetch 45 to 60 depending on how bad someone wants that car, its a beauty for sure, some of the ones with the Hilborn injection go for well over 100k

Gorgeous car. Nice job. What's it worth out there? I was looking at a friend's father's car last summer that he just restored. A 62 with a 327. It was perfect as far as I could tell. He said he would be lucky to get $80k for it, a lot less than it would have cost if he paid some one to do it. He said he had $58 in it plus a year's labor. I'd have paid $80 for it, if...

I added this for the reason of bringing something old back to life, my 23 nephew is responsible for 95% of this car and its rare to find someone with the talent he has, he is a know it all but at times can back it up in the end result, it was beyond a basket case and took a year to complete and the owner is thrilled with the car. it is a 1960 corvette with a 327. its not an old photo, but just a little something his father could be proud of...im the type to tell the kid it came out allright just so his head doesnt explode, but it would be hard to tell the kid you can do better next time because it came out pretty much close to perfect

Eric, we used to burn 2 cases of quarts of Sinclair 2 stroke oil on our 2 week vacation. I can't remember if they were 12 or 16 per case, but it was a lot of oil. Those windows on the back of the engine were for accessing the spark plugs without having to remove the engine cover because they needed to be changed often. That was the technology back then. Nobody considered it to be polluting, that's just the way it was.

Pete what were people thinking in those days? rivers catching on fire...an indian with a tear, I guess the world is heading in the right direction...I was bitching at some guy the other day, he brought me 4 gallons of green AF, to winterize his boat...i asked what he did in the springtime and he replied he backed it in and fires it up...i asked him where does the antifreeze go? he said Ive never thought about it but your right it goes into the lake, so i guess the point is alot dont realize and education is key here.

This is exactly like my father's boat that I learned to ski behind. It had a massive 50HP '58 Johnson that ran 25:1. When you took off with a skier, you'd smoke the whole beach out. Fins and all, to this day it is still not a very good looking boat.

Being somewhat computer illiterate I can't seem to scan anymore. I got a new pc with vista and my 2 year old hp printer/scanner does not support it.Went on hp's site ,no updates, so I'm a little miffed at hp. We are going to look at a Kodak esp-7 tonight.

This photo is from 1973. It is of 2 of my first boats. On the left is a Marchedi C/D hydro with a Merc Mark 30 racing engine. This boat blew by all the inboards on our lake. The other boat is a molded pylwood boat with a 1954 25 hp Johnson. I don't remember what brand the boat was, but the boat's name was Agony.

My daughter did them, her scanner is set up to do slides. She's a kids clothes designer for Kohls department stores.. all that school money does come in handy at times!

We always enjoyed getting together as a family and have "slide-shows" in the evenings, usually during winter. Last year after my father passed away, for Christmas, we scanned lots of the old slides and had an album made for mom so she could have pics to look at anytime she wanted . Those were just a few..

... for kicks heres an Easter morning one, circa 59, before church.

Mom and Dad were proud I remembered my Bible.... but, if you look close, you can actually see it was my first Graymarine engine manual.

Now, I know some of you have old pics posted here before, lets see some..

Steve;

I think many of us picked up our love of boats from our dads boats when we were kids. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of it. I will have to hunt around for one next time I go to my mom's house.

My dad won a '68 or '69 14' Chrysler Charger 118 outboard (white w/ gold stripe) in a sales contest when I was a kid. It was rated for a 65 HP motor. My dad promptly hung a 110 HP "Tower of Power" Merc off the back of it. I do remember that boat being FAST!!! Probably a little on the dangerous side too. Thats when I picked up my love for water-skiing. I would ski forever on our combo skis. He would finally have to just stop the boat to get me back inside it.

We used to ply the waters of Morse Resovoir in Cicero, Indidana which was near Noblesville (just north of Indy) where I grew up.

I used the magic of a computer savy daughter on that pic! ... and yes she did use a scanner. One reason it looks so clear for its age. My father took pics with a 35mm camera and had them made into slides.

Im setting here at our daugthers, going into the holidays, thinking its time to do a little reminiscing. I came across this old photo, taken in the late 50's at my aunt and uncles cabin on the Mississippi.

thats me to the very left... looks like one of my cousins might have the originator of "shooting the moon".

Lets see some more vintage family pics with boats!
