1morepass,

The answer is maybe. American Skier was
a Correct Craft model. I'm not sure what years it was made, but I believe that 1977
was in fact one of its production years.

American Skier was also a boat company, which
began producing boats in 1976, and operated
in various iterations until the late 1990s.
The Advantage, a model by the American Skier
Boat Company was very popular during the 1980s
and was voted boat of the decade by at least
1 water ski magazine. American Skier Boat
company went out of business in the late 1990s. Its assets were bought by Ben Favret,
a waterskiing Champion in 2001, and he is
attempting to resurrect the company as Elan
Boats (www.elanboats.com).

If you're unsure if the "American Skier" you are
looking at is a Correct Craft, or an
American Skier brand, just post a picture on
this site, and I'm sure you'll get lots of
folks to identify it for you.

Yes....I used to have a '77 too. It is the same hull as the same era ski nautique, just a foot shorter and no swim platform.
