I second the blue top optima, If you have a friend at a shop or dealership that will hook you up, you can get the optima for around 130$

Sorry for the Hijack,

Walmart has a Website titled The People of Walmart. There is a funny site about Walmart titled www.peopleofwalmart.com. Be sure the drop the "The". You can see pictures of all of the people that Waldo is talking about. It gets updated almost daily.

I put a Optima Blue Top Starting Battery in my Pontoon Boat and I love it. It was about $200 after a rebate. I will put one in my 80SN in another year or two. You can get the same thing at Sam's Club with a differnt name for about $150 or so. I do not have a Sam's Club membership so I got my at Autozone. Most of the guys here seem to use the Blue Top Dual Purpose Units who are using these batteries. Do a search on Optima Batteries and decide for yourself.

I hope this helps,

Donald

I try to stay away from Walmart as much as possible. Every time I go to Walmart there is always a big heifer leaning over her cart walkin right down the middle of the isle talking on her cell phone. Cleaner and nicer people shop @ Target.

I don't know who makes the JD batteries. I'll see if I can find out.

Have to agree with Hollywood on this one. I try to buy from our small town shops in Stuart and support them whenever I have the chance. But...sometimes Wallyworld has prices you just can't beat.

Don't pick on Tim, those really are good batteries. My boat had an everstart in it when I bought it. It lasted for about 6 years. And that was leaving it in the boat all winter without charging it. I've tried several brands since. The last two were Interstate. I've decided now about every 2 years, take it back and say its dead and with the prorate, get a new battery for about $20.

If you have a John Deere dealer near you check into theie batteries. They are more expensive but last an unbelievable amount of time in a boat. They carry all sizes and configurations. Can't go wrong in my experience.
