they are easy to find, i have a couple stashed for future projects, they are the length of a BW and drop so as Luch points out it would save compartment space. all gear to gear contact and no planetaries inside. I believe I posted a picture of one on Form and funtions "v-drive thread" its apart and you can see the qaulity

There was a transmission sale on marine parts express last month, perhaps you can find something there.

We use that tranny Eric mentions on a Malibu and it's been 300hrs smooth and reliable so far.

As it has a shorter profile than the other tranny combos installed on the modified 2001s, you'd end with the engine not that far on the transom, I'd dare to say a more balanced boat and some extra space on the engine room.

search for a Zf/Hurth 630 v, self contained unit, full power either direction. last one i found on evilpay for 499.00
its the Rolls Royce. 1.55:1 ratio

I'm planning to bult a rear engine 2001, as already to person did it and I think is a very good idea

I'm looking for a V drive and a transmission to go with, i already have an 351w engine for it...
