Hobby Boats can be expensive when the hobbyist is limited on their own skill and expertise.

I believe CC switched to vinylester (AME4000) in 1989. Prior to that they used polyester. Regardless, the gelcoat will be polyester.

Hello,
Please allow me to introduce myself. I am new to the forum and new to Correct Craft ownership, having just purchased a 1988 23' Fish Nautique. I will be keeping the boat in the water behind my home in Fort Lauderdale. I need to bottom paint the boat and now need to know if Correct Craft used vinylester resin to build these boats back in 1988. If not, I've been avised that I need an epoxy barrier coat under any bottom paint. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks |
