They sell butcher paper at Sams Club, but I'm not sure it is the kind you need. From what your describing you need the paper that is coated on one side. I think the kind they sell may be the plain paper type...

I used to work as a butcher in a past life... I used to bring home rolls of that stuff to let the kids draw on it. If you have a hard time finding it, let me know, I may be able to get a hold of some from a friend of mine.

I'll try Sam's Club.

Would parchment work? I didn't think it had a fibrous side to adhere to the softened paint muck.

Cant you pick it up at any grocery or big box store? Or are those too small of packages to worry about?

Perhaps you could look for a petite stripper to save some on shipping?

It is the Peel Away series of stripper.

Dumond Chemicals

I was wondering what type of store would carry it locally. Shipping would be rough on something that big and heavy.

Waaaay off topic here.

Does anyone know where to buy butcher paper? The stuff that is uncoated paper fiber on one side and waxed on the other.

I'm using a chemical stripper (Peel Away) that requires it to be covered. You spread the stripping paste on the paint then put the paper side into the stripper. The wax on the outside keeps everything from drying out too soon. A day or two later you just peel the paper off while gently scraping with a putty knife and all the layers of paint come off. It works pretty well.

Anyhow, the stuff is pricy and sold as a kit. They charge too much for their paper alone. Many have said butcher paper works just as well. Where do I go to buy it?

Thanks.
