No problem Joe..

Is the boat running bad? Have you put here in the water yet.. Watched the weather channel, you guys are getting some great weather up north and in the east.. It is in the mid 80's today in some places..

After waiting 5 minutes, I started it up. The gauge went to 20, and back to zero. I had it towed to my shop. We did an oil change (which it was not due for), and to my surprise, I saw the smallest oil filter that I've ever seen on a car or truck. It measured 3" dia and 3" in length. We cut the filter open (it was a Valvoline, from the quick lube joint) and it had quite a bit of crap on the bottom of the can. It makes me wonder if they actually changed the filter on the last oil change. The truck is running fine after the oil change. I'm fortunate that it didn't happen after using the remote start. I wonder if it would shut itself down?
I'm going to start changing filters after 2000 miles, half way between oil changes.

There usually is an optional filter that is longer for GM applications like yours.

Motorcraft also make a FL-1-HP that is recommended for high performance and severe use vehicles. I think the RPMs that are run in a boat would put it the severe use catagory. It is interchangeable with the FL-1-A put you can really tell the difference just picking it up. It is much heavier. I ran these in the 429CJ Torino that I used to have.

NEVER FRAM IT!!!! Last fall i was bored so I started to research oil filters. I always thought Fram was a good brand. Surprising enough, Fram is one of the worst. Cheap cardboard caps on the filter ends and some other cheap stuff I can't remember at the time. The filters that walmart carries, pro-tech 2000 or something like that come in a couple better than Fram. After the research, I ended up choosing K&N HP3001.

The AC is Blue and matches the motor color pretty close.
Do not remember the number.

good afternoon...

Could someone tell me what oil filter I need to grab. I am trying to avoid driving out to my boat then coming back into town tonight when I change my oil. I know to stay away from fram, but forget the size....
