So where is Delhi? I'm guessing it's way better than Rathbun and RedRock.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ya I'm hoping I can get a deal with the duy about the Aristocraft. If not then Chris Mars and I are going to work on his Skier together. But ya every year we go up to Delhi and we figured we would finally pull the trigger on getting a house instead of camping. Be sweet if we could all get together.

We had a small gathering last year with Storm, 70CC, and myself. I think Chris' group is planning on being back up there the first week of August. He's renting a place 2 doors down from my Dad's so I'm sure I'll be in attendance.

Mike - We definitely need an Iowa meet this summer. Lake Delhi seems like a natural with the 100+ CCs they have there.

Is it a Merc I/O? Knew several people in the 60's who had them and liked them.. Can not speek how they were made. Still see them around some. Believe they were around 18 ft. in length.

Thanks Chris. I think this model boat is fiberglass with a fiberglass hardtop. Does anyone know about the constructual configuration in these hulls? I'll try and get pictures up soon, my buddy who knows boats is going to go with me.

Alex - Welcome to the site! There are a number of us Iowans here.
There are also a number of members that are experts in woodies. Pete will surely pipe in about transom rot. If the seller has done repairs, they might be suspect, as the repair process is very involved. Please post photos of the Aristocraft so we can help you with the project. |

Hello to all. I'm new to the forum. I don't own a boat but I'm looking at buying my first boat, a hard-top Aristocraft. Any structural concerns I should know about? Like stringers, or transom damageI should look for?
