Absolutely agree. Make sure you post pictures of that beauty when you are done.

The site for the paint is ==>http://www.alexseal.com. It is a competator to Awlgrip. The benifit over awlgrip is that it can be buffered (if you need or want to). I always paint and never gelcoat just because of gloss retention and ease of install. Much easier to clean too. The paint is a two part system and I sprayed mine using a $35 gravity feed gun. Real key is timing the coats and how heavy each one goes on. If you get shy you don't get as deep of a finish. If you get agreesive or impatient you get a mess that needs to be sanded out and started again the next day. I am no pro so that in of its self a testiment to the ease of use. Happy to answer any specifics.

Connorssons, Mine is painted. Alexseal which is a buffable urethane. Thanks for the comment!

82, I feel your pain! Much easier to maintain in the long run.

Very cool. Looks like you didn't have much fairing to do at all? The box(s)on mine were both molded from the inside face so tha outside was unfinished glass. Is that what you had?

Good Work

I have actually done this on my Barefooter and the Ski Nautique. Not a big deal other than tons of fill and fairing. I did a rough sand with 60-80 to knock down the rough stuff and get old foam off. Thne did a ply of 6 oz cloth to "dress" the surface. Then fill two or three times with micro ballons and epoxy. Tons of fun!
