So did I ask this wrong? Can anyone recommend any type of pump to use for pumping out the tranny fluid?

I have 89 Supra Mariah with a PCM 351 engine. It has the power plus 1.23 tranny. I need to do a tranny fluid change.
I did some searching, and it seems like there are two common pumps to use. One looks like a grease gun and sucks out the fluid when you pull back on the lever. The second is a drill pump. I went to harbor freight, and they have the drill pumps for like 3 bucks. Seems like a good plan. But those pumps have an inlet and outlet regular water hose fittings. Like you would use to water your lawn. I am not sure what type of hose or adapter I would need to attach to that pump so I could pump out the tranny fluid. A regular garden hose would seem to be too large to fit into the tranny. So do you need to use an adapter to a smaller hose? And how long does the hose need to be reach the bottom? Or is there some better way? Jared |
