I have had some good luck with Car Quest Marine battery. I bought it at the end of 08, and I have put a charger test on it, it still is holding the recommended volts, CCA as if I still just bought it. It cost me 100 bucks.. The previous battery I had stunk, a Napa marine battery. Lasted about 1.5 yr..

If it truly holds up to those stats, then I would say your in the clear. That should be plenty of cranking power when needed. The accessories shouldn't put that much of load, sounds like a decent unit.

I was prepared to spend much more money. When something is cheap, I tend to worry about it. Oh well, if it is no good I have only wasted $60.

I haven't seen that particular battery before. But the stats on it sound very comparable to the optima's and other brands.   You mainly just want the CCamps, everything else should be fine. Good find.

Mainly for starting. I do have a radio/cd player but we rarely just sit and listen to it. Really the only thing besides starting the motor is running the blower and bilge pump.

Sounds like a good deal. Is this new battery purely for starting? Or will it be an accessory battery?

Battery died on me this weekend. I am looking at a Stowaway from Academy Sports for only $60. It is a Starting Battery with 1000 marine cranking amps & 800CCA. What is everyone's thoughts on this? Thanks for your replies.
