Steve,
You joined close to 3 years ago. Where have you been? Since that time I'd have to say we've had at least 10 complete threads on stringer jobs 2 (one current) using the Coosa. You need to sign on more!!

Yes, you do have some reading to catch up on but I do have two suggestions. Don't do a half assed scab partial stringer job. The water's in there and you do not what to do this over in a couple years. Next don't listen to your friends idea of using Rino lining!!! This is simply a lazy easy way of "fininshing" off the interior of a boat. Do you really want you boat to look like a pick up truck! I've seen old junk boats done with it just because it was cheap and quick. Regarding this "knowledgeable" friend of yours, what does he work on? Master Crafts?

I have 1974 Southwind 20 Bowrider, thought I would replace the carpet and maybe some flooring since it was a little soft, and once I opened it up, I find I will need to replace the stringers - at least in the aft section. I had a knowledgeable friend look at it, and he suggested using Coosa Board and then having it covered in Rhinocoat like they use in truck beds.
I'm fairly handy, but I've never tackled anything like this before in a boat. Would love to hear comments, advice, and suggestions from anyone who's been through this. Also is it possible to get any details/drawings on the sections that I will have to fabricate, and where and how they attach?
