Modifications are always more work than repairing it back to original equipment specs. You run the risk of the new design not performing like you thought it would & you're stuck with it at that point.

I have a 79 fish nautique which the cable broke on. I got one off a 78 model but it seems to be a bit longer and wont work right. Someone told me I can convert it to power steering set up since there was some sort of kit available. Can anyone let me know if that is true or not ?
