I gotta agree with Chris on this one. Dad is an Iowa farm boy and still has a farm in Perry, IA. I always looked forward to going to see my grandma on the family farm growing up couldn't wait to bite into an ear of that Iowa sweet corn. Nothing like it. Haven't had it in years but MAN that was good stuff!

Now if you wanna talk Peaches then there "Ain't nuttin better than a GA Peach!" and I ain't talking bout the female kind either Mr. Lavine.

While visiting my brother-in-law here in Mt.Vernon,Ohio, attending the July 4th parade at Kenyon College in Gambier, where his daughter and son are volunter fire-fighter/paramedics,-and the question follows-

Anyone ever eaten YELLOW Watermelon? And no HW-it's not the same as 'yellow snow'

My wife says it's awesome. Too many kids around digging in,so I never got any. The same guy brings about 30 melons every year they say and cuts 'em and puts them in a big cooler and gives them away during the parade.

The parade is only 1 block long- but the block is like 300 yards long.My grandaughter,Brianna rode with her cousin in the station fire truck, in which she yes SHE was driving!

JBear,

The mixed Yellow and White we call Peaches and Cream. I have been eating it all week. I got two dozen ears last week and we finished off the last of it tonight. I will be looking for more this week.

Which field did you pick it from, the one on the left, or the one on the right? (There's only two in Iowa.)

Doc I laugh when I see Sweet Corn stands in neighboring states. I feel bad for you guys down south maybe I should FedEx you some corn. The Sweet Corn festival up here in August is a blast. Until you have to use the Porta Potty. Kegs of beer and corn is a bad combination.
