Try adding some weight to the bow of the boat it seems to soften up the wake and it really improves the handling of the boat. I usually add about 150 lbs.

those are not lead plates...they are sound dampeners bars glassed to the hull sorrunding the log and strut area..they are made of some heavy type of plastic or rubber...
my 92 also has them you can see them in this picture 
edit: not glassed..they are glued.... |

Mike,
The pictures are pretty small and I can't quite make out what's glassed into the hull bottom. Are you sure they a lead weights and not just a repair? If they are weights, you'll need to get in there are grind off/cut whatever is holding them in. |

Hello everyone. My father and I are the new owners of a 94 Sport Nautique. We are primarily skiers and were looking for a good family/ski boat. Here is the problem. I think the previous owner was into wakeboarding and has put lead plates in the transom. The problem for us is that it produces a rooster tail from 28-36 mph that makes for a tough transition even on edge. Does anyone know what the best way to remove the lead would be? I have some pictures if you want to see.
