Yeah, I don't necessarily like the "manual" aspect, which is why I ws looking at other options. I was also trying to keep the cost down. We'll see, though. Thanks for the input!

What I like about the BEP products is the switch. I can switch to battery one, battery two or shut everything off. There is another unit that will allow you to parallel both batteries as well.

Thanks. I've looked at BEP and the Blue Sea products and they both seem pretty solid. I was looking for something more automatic, but seems like my options are kind of limited. The applications engineers at the vendor for the ure Power are working with the AE's at Sure Power for my application. Since it is a solenoid, there are concerns where I would put it with respect to airflow and heat. They say it gets "really hot". Another option I've looked at are isolators, but their downside is voltage drop across the diodes. Hellroaring makes an isolator combiner that is solid state, so the voltage drop isn't an issue. I'm kind of considering that, as well.

No, I haven't used "Sure Power" But I have used several different products from BEP Marine. They have battery bank management systems that work very well. I'll probably use the 714-100A in my rebuild.

I don't know how to post a link, but here is the address.

Anyone used one of these for combining / seperating batteries and keeping both charged? Any thoughts even if it isn't something you've actually used? I'm looking at this as an option for the "house" battery.
