Exactly, it looks like a biaatch. Someone on here said to abandon the old ones as they are embedded in foam and run new ones. But still not sure how they come thru the body and if that is hard. Like you said, I think the tank has to come out just to get to it. But I also have some leaking going on back there so? Man, I should have got off my ass and done this during the winter. Not like I did not have ten other projects going on tho.

Replacing the tubes in my 2000 Sport didn't look like much fun to be honest. Tank, ballast, etc. had to come out. Arggghhhhhhhhh!

Thanks Dave. I wonder how that compares to this one sold by DIM? The one DIM sells looks a little nicer, IMO. Has anyone used one of the DIM versions? How hard was it to run new tubes? Mine are shot.
Discount Inboard Marine Pitot Oh yea, $13.95 ea. |

The teleflex replacement pickups clog far less often in my experience. You do not have to redrill the hull. But you will need to use your old pitot pickup as a template and drill two holes in the teleflex pickup. Ignore the top hole in the pickup and just screw it on with some 3M sealant in the screw holes for good measure.
If you want the original airguide pickup, they are getting a little harder to find. I just sold my last one. I know a guy in Canada that may have two for sale though. |

The original round based ones come up on ebay pretty regular and they are not usually very expensive. Here is the one available through white lake marina.

FYI they are called pitot's.......Doug, I want to say that swatkinz replaced a broken pitot with a new one purchased from White Lake Marine. I think he was able to reuse the holes in the hull but had to bust out the "hole stretcher" on the new ones he bought. Said there was enough room to do that and not have to redrill the hull. I'm sure he'll step up to correct if I'm wrong.

Good job on my part. I was trying to unclog my speedometer pickup tube and broke it. (You know the piece that is on the back of the boat and hangs down into the water).
Where can I get one of these to fit an 89 SN 2001? Thanks |
