the original airguides show a little under 30 but really not planing out. its not a misreading tach, once 2000 R's come up, it wont rev, motor shakes and misses. Its all in my mechanics hands now. the last thing I can think of is it jumped time somehow. more gas you give it, nothing happens just wierd.

Not that I am aware of!Safety?
Lack of power(rmps)Where is your timing set? What is your top end...MPH ? If the timing is retarded too much it will sputter and sometimes backfire...RPM's will be low. Coil and or resistor are often offenders too. While running the engine , You can turn your distributer(advancing timing ) to where the idle is at it's highest rmps and continue until it starts to ping and miss.....back it off until there is little or no pinging...it will be close to where you want it and at that point for determining if you are getting higher RPM's. Also...does it sound like it is reving more that the tach shows? Maybe the tach not reading correct? Good luck and have fun once it's running right! |
