Might want to replace your resistor...you can test it by bypassing the resistor and running from the coil to the distributor...if the risistor is bad it will not give you the right voltage...simple to check and cheep to replace!
Other...fuel bowl levels? Check both! My secondary level was set too low and my engine would cut out at 2500 to 2800 RMPS...it would run all day at lower RPMS!Easy to check...free to fix! |

glad to hear it. One shop is going to check it out, seems they think the holly carb bowl screws with the springs cause the same symptoms after 30 minutes or so of running due to heat. They want to replace with solid screws. I will definetly check out the distributor.

ahh, I have the same problem. We finally traced it to the dwell. Our theory as of now is that the dist. shaft is slightly worn and that goofs with the dwell. Tomorrow we are ditching the points in favor of a petronix unit. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow AM.

My 1980 Natique has a 351 w. Began cutting out at 2200 rpm. Replaced plugs, fuel filter, cleaned carb. No luck. Then replaced the coil, what do you know ran perfect. Now after 2 hrs, same symtoms. Cuts out and stalls at rpm above 2300. Will idle or limp at 2000 rpm. Any ideas out there?
