Last Sunday, the guy who lives next to my new barn showed me his new toy. It is a mint 1978 6.6L Bandit Trans Am. When I say mint, I mean freakin' cherry. It has only 8900 miles on it. He got it two weeks ago from his mom. He said his parents got divorced years ago, and this was the one car she got in the settlement. He said his dad had a Barracuda that he wouldn't part with. He's been begging his mom for years, and she finally said she would deduct the car from his inheritance.

Not the bandit, but still a nice car, my 76 Rally Sport I owned in the 90's...although I did try to drive like the Bandit

OK--- She was born in Ohio-- but when I was in Rapid City,South Dakota-- that's where I met her. That's where she went to High School. Must have had something to do with a Reunion that year or something. She hadn't put on the weight back then

I thought they had some kind of gear reduction on them as opposed to a regular starter that had the pinion straight off the armature?

Any answers on where Ms. Bach's hometown is????

No that '69 Super Bee is a car that Rich Oakley- a customer of mine- is restoring.
It'll be a daily driver and every bolt, nut, washer on it is CHROME.! The owner has more money than sense! He's got $25k in it so far. All panels and the back snout of the car are PERFECT reproductions. All metal in this car. Paid good money to get the fenders and rear snout done.
Retro Rides

The 'Killer Bee' was a $75k Car. Richard Petty Enterprises at the time built the NASCAR engine. He's the same guy that owns the Red Super Bee. His wife won the 'Killer Bee' in the divorce!!

It was on the cover of the Mopar Muscle Magazine and placed at one of The Good Guys Shows up in Ohio. Man that car was FAST! He had to weld the frame all together with extra supports so it wouldn't TWIST!

Not a Mopar guy, Trans Am all the way. A lot of people confuse my black and gold 80 Z28 as a Trans Am, usually I won't even bother correcting them.

My dad owned a couple of Trans Ams back in the mid-70s. Brings back some good memories.

I caught an episode of American Chopper where they did some bikes for Trans Am Depot. Trans Am Depot takes new Camaros and modifies them to look like old Trans Ams and GTO's. Very cool.

I also read somewhere they used Rambler Marlins as well. They just couldn't find any more Chargers, and had to use something that had a similiar profile. Not sure that I would think a Marlin looked like a Charger, but, just reporting what I read.

Sally Field if your taking her home to meet mom, Katherine Bach if your taking her home to meet dad!

As for the cars, what about the Challenger in Vanishing Point vs Bullit? Still think that Bullit is by far the best car chase on film.

I think the Mopar starters back then actually cranked at 6 volts or at least something less than 12, hence the odd sound.

I don't about Sally Field. I am not sure what it is with her....kind of like dating a nun or something. But, she sure looks good in that pink, two-piece habit.

Always liked the 68-69 Dodge Chargers. But, what was it with the Mopar starters. As a kid, my family used to have a '66 Dodge Coronet that made that strange starter sound.

Sally Field or Catherine Bach?
