sucking it out is still the way to go, unless you can angle the trans back, but no, nothing will go flying, take the big 1 1/16th pipe out and you will get most of it out

Okay, I have the motor out of the boat, so I was going to try and drain to get all of the old out. It is better to suck it out while in the boat.

Mike,
I suggest sucking the old out with one of the suction fluid extractors. Some have also used pump tops off cosmedic containers and even turkey basters with a short section of tubing stuck on the end.

I was under the impression that the fluid needs to be "pumped or sucked" out of the tranny.

When I go to drain the tranny. The bolt on the lower rear cooler line is the one to pull. But I was wondering if there are any spring loaded parts or screens that are going to come shooting out.
