I think I have what your looking for. its mid 70's and adjustable horz/vert left or right side. I'll dig thru my junk and post a pic. If its correct 40 plus shipping seems fair

I knew it was an old post but remembered it when I saw the control, I know it can be a long search for some of these parts. All we can do is put them out there. I hope the guy found what he needed.

That MV1 (late 60's/early 70's vintage) would have the same internal guts as the late 70's version... Im not sure which he has in his '76 but he could certainly piece one good, original control together with the pieces.
Either way, it doesnt matter much... this guy hasnt been on here since the day he started this thread in October. I emailed him about a control I had for sale (at 1/3 the price of that on on craigslist) and never heard back. Oh well! |

speaking of loud Tim..Eddie got his stroker motor back on the water this weekend. Has stainless pipes and tips like yours....did I say LOUD? Sounds just awesome. We were riding side by side and I could hear his boat over mine and mine is loud. Very fast too! john |

Try the hardware store, otherwise keep a close eye on ebay. An MV1 or MV2 should pop up sometime before next spring for quite a bit less than $300.
Im surprised you cant hear my '90 from Brookfield. |

Oh yes I've been on Zoar once before My Uncle lives not to far from there rite in oxford. A hardware store was also a back up plan I was considering I plan to drive to a true value tomorrow and see if they can help me out. hopefully that will solve the problem saving me lots of searching for an old throttle. if that plan doesn't work in the meantime I hope to find someone who is selling an Mv-1 otherwise I'm going to have to buy the mv-2 or sit over on it over winter and see what comes my way. btw you're ski nautique is awesome! I've never seen one before as done up as yours is with exhaust and everything how much of a difference is there in sound?

No chance of finding that ball and spring hiding under your workbench I take it? Ive done that before- those suckers are slippery. Like I said, the MV1 and MV2 guts are the same, so keep on the lookout for either style. A good hardware store may also have a ball and spring that would work. Bring the control in to test fit them.
Candlewood is just down the road from me- theres a few people from here in that area. There are a few people who boat regularly on Zoar as well. Welcome! |

good I'm glad to here that because yes it is sad to find out that less and less parts for these classics are being made as the years move on and finding information about these inboards is very valuable. I'm located in brookfield CT rite next to Candlewood lake if you're familiar with the area

yeah I called skidim and they told me that the MV-2 is no longer made but! I did happen to find a site that had one mv-2 left although it's $300...I was debating finding a used old one before purchasing the brand new, what do would you prefer?

"Almost identical" in what way, Kap? The housing is different, as is the bolt pattern. Kind of defeats the purpose if he's trying to keep the original look! That being said, the MV2 and MV1 have the same internal guts. If your MV1 is worn beyond repair, but you still have the housing, then you can swap everything over from a newer unit. If your housing is whats broken (stripped threads, etc) then you will need to source a used one somewhere. Ebay is your friend. Dont worry about the fact that you have a MC... we wont berate you too much! I think you'll find that there is some pretty good technical info here for older inboards of all brands. Better than anywhere else on the web, IMHO- including the MC site. Where abouts in CT are you located? |

I just recently had a problem with my Morse control on my 1976 MasterCraft Stars and Stripes and am in desperate need of a new throttle from that time and age to keep the boat the way it is oppose to modifying a newer style to it. If anyone has a one they are willing to sell that is not in use anymore please contact me, Thanks
