   I work for The Boeing Company, and we shut down from Christmas Eve to New Years. Not sure when that started, but it's been that way for many decades. I was told once we don't get the "little" holidays off during the year (bankers holidays), but instead lump all of those in this week. I've also heard we do factory maintenance during this time.

	Not much progress lately, sorry. Too much work and no play time. However, I have every day from next Friday to Jan 3 off work and I plan to make some good progress over the next couple of weeks. Oh - and I got sidelined fixing up some things on the trailer, like putting on new bunk carpet. No engine yet.

	Kevin,how did you make out with you foam/floor repairs?engine and trans?your project is definitly something i see myself getting overhead on.update!good luck

	OK, that is very helpful. Thanks! Now, I just need to find a source for Weldwood HHR contact cement. So far, I'm 0 - 2. Think I'll try a marine place next.

	I want to clarify my answer posted above. We use the HHR contact cement for everything as opposed to having 3 or 4 different glues made for different applications. The HHR works well on all applications we encounter. HHR is not necessary for all applications. I can't say for certain that HHR is necessary to glue the carpet that wraps under and glues to the inside of the motor box because we have never used any other glue. Regular outdoor carpet glue may work fine...we just don't know because we have never used any other glue. We also use the HHR to glue down the rubber carpet trim to the floor.

	Here's the answer! Kevin, I thought you meant to glue the carpet rubber trim but you mean the carpet itself. We use HHR Weldwood contact cement for everything simply because that is what is available in 5 gals at our supplier. The HHR stands for high heat resistant. We don't sell it because we can't ship it due to shipping regulations. If you glue it down good and tuck it into the rubber trim, I don't believe you will have a problem.

	All, I'm currently corresponding with Christine's on this topic, but I thought that I'd throw this question out to my friends here as well. I got a new skin to replace the ripped and wrong-color one on the engine box of my 1993 Ski. As I removed the old skin I noticed that the carpet on the inside of the box was definitely tacked down with some glue. Considering the unique environment of an engine box (fumes, heat, etc) I wondered: Is the carpet glue in this spot the same as the glue used to hold carpet to the floor/walls of a boat or is it unique? Of further note, the glue has a decidedly greenish tint to it, where the rest of my boat appears to use brownish colored carpet glue. Here is a photo of me pulling the carpet back. Note the rubber/plastic trim piece the carpet tucks into, but also note the green strip of adhesive. Any ideas? I'll post Christine's response as well so that we can keep this data for future reference. Kevin
