Pete, since he's the only one in the boat I'd say it makes the boat look worse than if it was empty or balanced. I'm sure that boat has some rot and wet foam....they all do! Marty, nice looking Tique. Have you had a chance to put some hours on it this winter?! |

Save your money with minicraft.I cut a chunk out of the gunnel behind the back seat and it come back too light. That was ok tho because I used their color wheel to buy a standard color which turned out too dark.Mixxed them together in varying amounts and it comes out very close. You could call them and see if they may already have a match.I wish they would sell in pints- |

Which Correct Craft of mine are you referring to about the extra weight and stringer condition?

Get one of the gel coat repair kits. It will come with multiple colors of tint's. The tint's go a long way so I suggest using the tip of a tooth pick to add the tint. White is probably the hardest color to match. Get it as close to the color you can and then add the hardener. Welcome to CCfan. Marty, I notice your avitar picture and diary that your boat is sitting pretty low in the water. I feel you have some extra weight with wet foam. How are your stringers? |

Hi Marty - Are you in North Liberty, IA?
I recommend you send a sample of the gelcoat to Minicraft - they can scan it & color match. They sell tint kits too, if you have a good eye for color. Make sure & wet sand it 1st to get back to the original color! If you aren't trying to keep it original, a big shortcut is to take it to a auto paint store - they can scan the paint & mix up a spray can for about $25. I did this & after buffing it is very hard to tell where the blend line is. |

I'm looking for suggestions on the best way to match the gelcoat on my 1979 Nautique and my 1976 Ski Tique.
