I'm new to this boat restoration thing and I'm looking for some help on the proper proceedure for alinging the prop shaft with the eng/trans.

The boat is a 1978 Ski Tique, 302 rev. rot Ford and Velvet Drive trans.

I stipped down the machine and restored it to all original and I've had the motor rebuilt. I'm ready to go back together with the drive train.

Nothing has been changed as far as motor mounts or surface they sit on - bolts are going back into the original holes, ect...

I'd like to note that I've had the shaft checked for straightness and its within .004"

Of course I will be repacking the shaft seal.

I'd also like to note that upon disassembly I found a .005" brass shim under the stern end of shaft support.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ted.
