end play or side play not good. Rudder needs to be dropped and the shaft pulled. The stufing box should be ok unless you are having problems with it now.

My 93SN has 660 hours I have never replaced the strut bearing. I have not noticed and viberation but can move the shaft 1/16 of inch or so back and forth when I move it by hand. How much is too much play. If replaced do I have to drop the rudder and I guess the shaft log has to be repacked??????
